Dale worked with the students this morning on anaylzing speeches using rhetorical appeals. I thought it might be fun to let the students apply what they learned; I brought in some junk I found in my office (a Dairy Queen airplane, a Joe Mauer statue, a Bison bobblehead, and a Disney World button). Students were then asked to write a 30 second ad for one junk item using 2-3 appeal / strateiges dicsussed in class.
I have noticed the student really seem to respond well to any activity that asks them to perform.
